One of our favorite travel blogs (Travel and Leisure) recently came up with a list of 26 different secret beaches around the world which was absolutely amazing! We took, (in our opinion) the 10 best of those and came up with our own list – Agape Voyage style! The SECRET IS OUT!
1. Lowe Howe Island, Australia
A tropical oasis only know to a few (add yourself to that list now!) and an awesome place for snorkeling! This fancy blue island was born from a volcanic eruption 7 million years ago and houses a long and vibrant coral-reef lagoon IDEAL for snorkeling!
2. Ibo Island, Mozambique
A part of the Quirimbas Archipelago islands in northern Mozambique, Ibo Island gives you that perfect experience of sparkling turquoise waters and marine life! Ibo Island is also IDEAL for shipwreck snorkeling and deep-sea diving – you might even find some buried treasure! For the ultimate intimate stay here on the island, choose one of the nine rooms at the Ibo Island Lodge! Romantic, exclusive and the only way to really experience this beautiful island! 3. Koh Lanta, Thailand
Far from the maddening crowds in Phuket and Phi Phi, Koh Lanta is your destination for a private and exclusive beach all to yourself! This beautiful beach stays at a mid-80-degrees year-round with pristine sands and coral snorkeling reefs. Start packing your bags!
4. Panglao Island, Philippines
Ananyana Beach Resort & Spa occupies a prime spot on a mile-long stretch of sand which would be the perfect place to stay while visiting this gorgeous place! A little bonus – the diving around the island is one of the best of the Philippines!
5. Alagoas, Brazil
Alagoas is a small state in northeastern Brazil with a tropical coastline of palm-lined, white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and near-shore coral reefs 🙂 Tropical paradise? Sounds like it to us!
6. Happy Bay, St. Martin
Happy Bay is a happily exclusive beach with amazing sugar sand! Snorkelers are rewarded with tropical fish in the crystal waters, some of the best on the island. Services are virtually nonexistent, so stock up on supplies at one of the bars in Friar’s Bay!
7. Polihale Beach, Kauai
This is the place you’ve been searching for! This wonderful beach is on the westernmost end of Kauai’s island and is the hottest, sunniest spot. Polihale beach is one of the most remote beaches and is only accessible by a dirt road off the scenic coast drive from resort towns like Princeville and Koloa.
8. Lameshur Bay Beach, St. John
Another perfect spot for the snorkeler! This beach is unique because it leads to Beehive Cove – a cave system with tunnels filled with coral, sea sponges, and reef fish! You can also do a little touring of the ruins of an 18th-century slave plantation, which overlooks the gorgeous bay below!
9. Playa Carrillo, Costa Rica
Playa Carrillo is one of the least developed spots on the Nicoya Peninsula! It is framed by mountains which give it an amazing back drop! It is also known among divers for its excellent coral reef teeming with marine life, the beach is protected by rocky headlands, providing calm, warm water for swimmers!
10. Anse Source d’Argent, Seychelles
An unspoiled natural environment where most folks get around by bicycle. The closest thing to a resort is La Digue Island Lodge which line the beach with thatched-roof bungalows and a neat little 19th-century colonial house! The stunning feature of this beach is the enormous granite boulders that make up the shoreline.
