Obviously!

Maybe not so obvious though is that you’ll also want to keep an extra photo copied passport, trust us. A lost passport is the worse thing that can happen to you as a world explorer. You’ll also want to ensure you get your passport way in advance as it can cost more to have it in 4-6 weeks, if you need it that soon! The goal of the passport is to get as many stamps as possible – THAT’S HOW YOU WIN! 🙂

2. A Great Backpack

Do not doubt the back pack – and do not buy an el cheapo. A backpack is perfect because it allows you to be highly mobile while still carrying a lot of weight. Plus you’ll need as many things as possible – esp if your a girl. Have you ever seen a chick pack for a vacation? Ok, now imagine 6+ month vacation. The struggle is REAL. Ok, in the 21st century we have Google but a map really gives you that hands on planning. Place pins on the places you def want to visit – then google that shit! Find in between cities, national parks, camp sites, hostels, (try air b&b – although you need to build a report NOW with your own home so people know your not creepers) and find all the other little things you want to do. Figure out if a train passes through these places etc. You can’t just fly to the other side of the world and “wing it” – even though that sounds more exciting and scary, we are not about being scared while traveling.

A question we ask ourselves daily – but in all seriousness it’s important to know how much your all mighty dollar is worth in each of the countries you want to visit. Sometimes your dollar will buy you alot – sometimes it wont *cough cough like HERE in the US lol! Estimate, estimate, estimate and when your done estimating, multiply your money by 3. You cannot go to Europe with just a few bucks ya’ll – if you want to feel secure, safe, and not homeless – this planning takes like a year. START planning though – years flyyyy by as we all know. There is NO time to waste. You plan a year ahead – you will be a happy camper (no pun intended lol).
