Albania is a beautiful country worth exploring. There are many castles to be explored and old time towns to visit that overlook the beautiful ocean AND mountains. The streets are narrow and winding and the people are exceptionally nice.
1. Explore Butrint
Extremely impressive site of Greek / Roman origins and it has been abandoned since the Middle Ages. The ruins lay among trees next to the water, which is especially picturesque.
2. Swim In The Blue Eye (Syri Kalter)
Beautiful turquoise and deep blue colors make up this natural spring which is at least 50m deep. Locals swim where the spring comes out of the ground despite the low temperature of the water – a very refreshing way to cool off and escape the heat! There is also a nice restaurant overlooking the river where you can enjoy a drink.
3. Fall In Love With The Berat Fortress
Berat is such a lovely city with beautiful architecture, especially at night when all the windows are lighted. This place is magical, with nice bars, pubs and great hotels. The views here are breath taking and It’s also interesting because houses lay within its walls and many local people still live there.
4. Camp In Valbone Valley National Park
“Albanian miracle of Alps” to keep this place short and simple. You can camp here and enjoy the great outdoors and be one with nature – it’s pretty spectacular.
5. Find The Soviet Whiskey Class Submarines Left Abandoned in Albania
We cannot for the life of us find out exactly where these submarines are kept like this – BUT we do know they exist. Could make for an interesting mystery to find the location of these interesting abandoned submarines – a lost piece of history.
6. Party On Jale Beach
An amazing beach that can sometimes get crazy with the partying! YES!
7. Explore The City Of Vlore
A coastal town and municipality in southern Albania! Here you can explore monasteries and museums and eat at amazing restaurants with the gorgeous views of course.
8. Visit The City Of Saranda
The Saranda waterfront – always a nice scene. There are many historical sites here such as the Ksamil Village as well as amazing restaurants and multitude of water activities!
9. Swim, Hike & Be Merry At The Albanian Riviera
The Albanian Riviera runs along the Ionian Sea under the Ceraunian Mountains in Southern Albania! So, that pretty much translates into spectacular views, plenty of beaches and mountains to hike through.
