Belize is truly the water lovers perfect destination. You like to scuba dive? Belize. You want to swim in beautiful and exotic waterfalls? Belize. Does swimming with harmless sharks tickle your fancy? Belize! Want to sleep in an affordable water bungalow, that’s right, Belize! We did our homework and trust us, this is honeymoon material!
1. Dive at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve
An absolute most. In these waters you can pretty much see every aquatic life form from eels, to sting rays, nurse sharks and oh course plenty of tropical fish! Please have a waterproof camera for this trip, you might regret it if you don’t.
2. Swim in Big Rock Falls
This is exactly the tropical waterfall we were talking about! Welcome to La Fortuna!
3. Swim with the Sharks in Shark Ray Alley
Here you can snorkel with dozens of (harmeless) Nurse Sharks and several sting rays. Feel free to pet them, they don’t bite!
4. Dive The Blue Hole
The Great Blue Hole- Lighthouse Reef – The water is so BLUE here.
5. Dive the Turneffe Reef
Heaven down under!
6. Do a Night Tour with the American Crocodile Education Sanctuary
While cruising through the lagoon side of the island searching for crocodiles at night, you get an entertaining and very educational insight about the animals, the area, and the threats they face. Great bonus, you even get to hold a croc!
7. Enjoy the Bottomless Mimosa’s at Stella’s Smile
Their crepes on Sunday mornings are excellent. They’re served with bottomless mimosas which are great. That’s right, BOTTOMLESS Mimosa’s, need we say more?
8. Enjoy the Rain Restaurant & Rooftop Terrace
The best food and view with live entertainment – and the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking.
9. Sleep in the Victoria House
I would recommend this to anyone visiting Belize – hands-down the most committed staff and management, and the most beautiful grounds of any resort! This is the place to stay at while honeymooning!
10. Sleep in a Water Bungalow at the Thatch Caye Resort
If the Victoria House isn’t “beachy” enough for you, try this place on for size. Forget the Maldives, just get to Belize!
